  • Wander through our desert garden……….see our history as we, the local Aboriginal people see it, through artifacts and the interpretive display.

Hear our story in words and pictures………relive it all with postcards from our shop.

Our centre is located next to a sacred site of the Warumungu people – the home of the Spiny Tailed Goanna.  At the Centre you will find an exhibition space devoted to the finest Aboriginal art from the Barkly Region.  Traditional objects have been returned from the museums of South Australia and Victoria. The return of these objects has enormous significance for the Warumumgu people, and they are now a highlight of the unique colleciton on display.

The building is constructed of steel and mud bricks and stands in a landscaped garden of traditional mayi food plants (bush tucker) selected by muparrani (Aboriginal people).

We look forward to your visit.
