  • The Noccundra Hotel is the only surviving building in the Noccundra township. Our Heritage Listed Sandstone Hotel has been serving beer since 1882.

Our hotel serves as an important link with the pastoral establishment in the area, it is built of Sandstone, quarried locally from Milparinka NSW and transported to Noccundra by camel train. The township of Noccundra has a population of 3 and is situated adjacent to the Wilson River, 142km west of Thargomindah.

Mr James Gardiner was granted the first liquor licence for the Noccundra Hotel in 1886. The Hotel was an important link in Outback Communications and became a service point for travellers and a focus for community events. The Hotel was Heritage Listed in 1977.

A popular spot for bushwalkers, bird watches and kayaking.

Noccundra Hotel is open 7 days (with the exception of Good Friday and Christmas day) and meals are available daily. Tours and group bookings are welcome.

We have a range of clean, comfortable, affordable accommodations available.

Our donga-rooms (also called ATCO huts or camp-style rooms) have linen included, the beds are made up and bathroom facilities are shared. Group bookings are welcome.

The Noccundra Hotel is not a caravan park however, we can connect a limited number of vans to power (bookings recommended). Free bush camping is available approximately 300m from the Hotel, with toilets and hot showers available. Registration is required for the bush camping – first in best dressed. Please note: the closest water fill point and a dump point is Thargomindah. Drinking water is available to purchase from the Hotel.

Meals – we do have counter lunches available between 12 noon and 2 pm. Evening Meals are available from 6 pm. Take-away available too.

Fuel – diesel and unleaded (91) available from 8 am till noon and from 2 pm till 5 pm. No LPG or gas cylinder refills are available.

It is worth noting there is no mobile phone coverage in Noccundra.
