The Royal Flying Doctor Service Kalgoorlie Visitor Centre provides visitors to the Kalgoorlie Goldfields area with a fantastic opportunity to visit our working base.
Our recently refurbished Visitor Centre incorporates the Roger Waller Theatre, Doc Shop and great interactive and informative displays.

The RFDS Auxiliary Garden, which was officially opened on the 125th birthday of our founder Rev. John Flynn, is located to the front of the Visitor Centre and is equipped with park benches and barbecue facilities.

TOURS

Bookings are not necessary for our daily tours, but for large groups it is advisable to book to ensure that we are able to cater for your needs. On arrival you will be greeted by our friendly and informative tour guide who will invite you into the Roger Waller Theatre for some fantastic footage and real life accounts of those who have used the Royal Flying Doctor Service, followed by an exclusive insight into the establishment and operations of the RFDS today. As a special treat where possible, the tour will extend to our heritage WWII hangar where you will be able to get up close and personal with our state of the art aircraft.

We welcome visits from school groups, pre-primary through tertiary. There is no better way to bring classroom studies to life than to experience, first hand, a living
tutorial. Students will leave the RFDS Kalgoorlie Visitor Centre with an understanding of the incredible accomplishment of John Flynn, our founder, in bringing together radio, medicine and aviation to overcome the ‘tyranny of distance’ which the vast and remote outback presented its inhabitants early last century.

School group tours also involve age appropriate activities.

DOC SHOP

Our lovely Doc Shop boasts a fantastic range of our official RFDS merchandise – from pens and badges, to hats, polo shirts and jackets. Why not pick something up as a memento to take with you as you journey home? Our items make great souvenirs and gifts! All proceeds from the sale of our merchandise remain with the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service Kalgoorlie Visitor Centre is located at the Kalgoorlie Airport (turn left at the roundabout).

We are open Monday to Friday 10am-3pm, with regular tours taking place at 10.15am and 2pm. Entry is $5.00 per person. For more information or group bookings please call (08) 9093 7595.
