Adelaide was Australia’s first free settlement established in 1836. One of Australia’s best planned cities it is an eclectic mix of heritage and contemporary style architecture. It has a temperate Mediterranean climate making it an enjoyable destination anytime of the year. A walking tour of the cities grand old buildings can be broken with a rest in one of the many nearby parks and gardens or on the bank of the River Torrens. Stroll down leafy Frome Road and you will find the Adelaide Zoo and iconic ‘Popeye’ river cruises.

Get sampling some of South Australia’s finest food and wine in one of the many cafés or restaurants.  Adelaide’s Central Markets, Rundle Street, Gouger Street, North Adelaide and Norwood Parade have excellent shopping and dining. Jump on a tram out to Glenelg and spend a day relaxing by the beach. Adelaide has a hectic festival calendar that keeps the city vibrant and alive throughout the year.

Just 20 minutes away the Adelaide Hills wrap themselves around the edge of the suburbs offering bush land, villages, galleries,lush gardens and spectacular views from Mt Lofty summit. There are also many boutique bed and breakfast, cottage and romantic getaway style accommodation options to choose from.  Visit  Hahndorf, Belair National Park, Birdwood Motor Museum or Cleland Wildlife Park.
