The Murraylands encompasses towns along the river Murray from Blanchetown to Meningie, and east to Pinnaroo.  This area is also known as ’The Mallee’, named after the hardy Mallee tree which is prolific in the region.  Visit riverside towns like Mannum, Murray Bridge or Tailem Bend. The Big Olive located on the Dukes Highway is a fascinating stop off point, you can enjoy a great coffee and see the biggest olive showroom in Australia!  Meningie only 152km south east of Adelaide is nestled on the shore of  Lake Albert, the gateway to the Coorong, famous for its prolific birdlife.

The Monarto Zoo located on the Princes Highway is a major attraction of the Murraylands with its walking trails or the Zu-Loop, a hop on hop off bus system that allows you  spend your time with your favourite animals. You can really get up close and personal with  giraffes, rhino’s and cheetas.

The Riverland is the fruit bowl of South Australia.  From Murray Bridge to Renmark are orchards with citrus, stone fruit, grapes and nuts. Wineries such as Angoves, Berri Estates and Banrock Station welcome visitors and you can sample the excellent local produce. The Waikerie Hotel has great accommodation including a golf package and the fantastic Murray  River Queen departs from the rivers edge at Waikerie. The Riverland has all types of water activities, beautiful scenery, and houseboat holidays that are available from most major river towns.  Mannum, Loxton, Blanchetown, Waikerie, Berri and Renmark  are not far apart and each town has its own unique atmosphere and attractions so be sure to visit them all.
