Victoria has an abundance of attractions within a relatively small area.  Melbourne, Victoria’s capital city is a shopper’s paradise.  See the sites travelling by tram and explore the many magnificent gardens, museums, cafés and designer stores.  Close by are the lively beachside areas of the Mornington Peninsula, Queenscliff and Phillip Island (famous for its fairy penguins).

Heading south west of Melbourne is the Great Ocean Road, winding its way past famous surf beaches, quaint seaside townships and offering spectacular coastal views of the Twelve Apostles and the Shipwreck Coast.  Victoria boasts more than 400 wineries, over 100 of these are within only and hour or two of Melbourne (Rutherglen, Yarra Valley or Macedon Ranges).

Visit premier ski resorts like Mount Buller and Mount Hotham in The High Country.  Heading south-east to Gippsland discover lakes, lagoons, beaches and caves. Lakes Entrance is a popular family holdiay destination with fantastic fishing, beaches and an assortment of accommodation and attractions to suit all budgets.

Fossick for gold around historic Ballarat or Bendigo – also known for their ornate Victorian heritage buildings. The Grampians are famous for their spectacular scenery, walking trails and prolific wildlife. Step back in time with a paddle steamer ride along the mighty Murray River and visit quaint townships where history comes alive like Echuca and Swan Hill.  Right up in Victoria’s far north-west corner is Mildura, located right on the banks of the Murray River and just over the bridge is New South Wales.   Hire a houseboat and have your own adventure holiday discovering Victoria.

Victoria is just 2.96% of Australia, but with so much to see – it is a perfect tourist destination.
